* Are you arguing about the same issues and unable to reach a solution?
On average people wait 6 years before seeking help with a relationship problem. The longer the problem persists, the more likely you are to feel resentment towards your partner.
* Psychological treatment for anxiety, panic attacks, depression and stress also provided.
* Seeking help can feel confronting. People are sometimes anxious because they don't know what will happen in couples counselling. I know that this can be a difficult time. If you could use some support, I'd like to help.
About me
I'm a male Psychologist based in the Sydney CBD who specialises in couples counselling and helping people with their relationships.
I have received training in couples therapy through the Australian College of Applied Psychology, Relationships Australia, Dr Leslie Greenberg (a Canadian Psychologist who helped to develop Emotion Focused Therapy) and The Gottman Institute in Seattle.
Many Psychologists and Clinical Psychologists provide relationship counselling, very few have specialised in this area.
I have 19 years experience providing couples therapy at Relationships Australia, IVFAustralia and in my private practice.
Wouldn't you prefer to see somehow who is highly trained and experienced?
Medicare provider number 2840247H
If you are experiencing depression, anxiety or another mental health condition, you are eligible for Medicare rebates when you see a Psychologist. A GP referral is needed to receive the Medicare rebate (under the Better Access to Mental Health care plan). Give the GP my full name, practice address & my Medicare Provider number for the referral.
Bring the GP referral to your next appointment. After the appointment, submit the receipt to Medicare and you will get a rebate of $93.35 per session (maximum of 10 sessions per calendar year).
The Medicare rebates are only eligible for individual counselling sessions. Individual Telehealth sessions are eligible for the Medicare rebate due to COVID.
Unfortunately, couples counselling sessions cannot receive a Medicare rebate.
If you have private health insurance, check with your health fund to see if there is a rebate for sessions with a Psychologist.
